“I come from Manado, a small city in East Indonesia. In terms of development, East Indonesia is quite left behind compared to West Indonesia, especially the Java island. This development gap motivated me to pursue the MDM program at AIM in order for me to contribute to the development of East Indonesia.

After studying for few months at AIM, I changed my approach in looking at a problem. Now, I’m aware that I need to find out the root cause of the problem before coming up with a solution. I learned a lot of problem analysis tools from our professors, which are important in the development world, especially in addressing community needs. Without doing a deeper problem analysis, the investment in community projects will not be effective or efficient in solving community problems.”
